Summary: What was the listening selection about?

This video shows us several facts about sleep.
1. What happens when you experience a lack of sleep ?
If you constantly feel sleepy, you will be easily irritated, feel exhausted during the day, or often yawn. Not getting enough sleep weakens your immune system and can have serious consequences. Your emotional state can also be affected by a lack of sleep. Not getting enough sleep also increases the risk of developing the following problems and diseases: exhaustion, depression, changes in hormone function, cardiovascular diseases, visual impairment, and diabetes.
2. How much sleep is needed for your age?
Scientists have established the connection between age and the required number of hours a person needs to have a good night’s sleep. Newborns 0–3 months old need about 14–17 hours of sleep daily. If you’re the parent of a 1- or 2-year-old toddler, make sure they sleep for no less than 11–14 hours every day. Kids from 6 to 13 years old need sleep about 9–11 hours. Young adults of 18–25 years old need less sleep: just 7–9 hours every day. The same can be said about adults between 26 and 64 years of age: 7–9 hours are enough for them to rest. Elderly people older than 65 sleep even less: 7–8 hours a day. The older a person is, the smaller amount of sleep recovery they need.
3. How to get enough sleep and feel refreshed every day ?
Fall asleep and wake up at the same time every day. Don’t drink coffee at night. Choose a comfortable bed and quality bedding. Try not to use gadgets before going to bed, and turn off electrical appliances at night. Avoid naps if you have problems with sleep.

Summary: What was the listening selection about?

This video shows us the most important rule: Listen First.
You must listen to UNDERSTANDABLE English. You must listen to English EVERY DAY. Don’t read textbooks. Listen to English. It’s simple. That is the key to your English success. Stop reading textbooks. Start listening every day. Learn With Your Ears, Not Your Eyes In most schools, you learn English with your eyes. You read textbooks. You study grammar rules. Effortless English is a listening system. You learn English with your ears, not your eyes. You listen to 1-3 hours every day.

Summary: What was the listening selection about?

This video shows us about rule 5: Use Point Of View Mini-Stories I call these stories “Point Of View Mini-Stories”
They are the most powerful way to learn and use English grammar automatically. Use Point of View Stories for Automatic Grammar You must learn grammar by listening to real English. The best way is to listen to the same story… told at different times (points of view): Past, Perfect, Present, Future. How do you do this? Easy! Find a story or article in the present tense. Then ask your native speaker tutor to write it again in the Past, with Perfect tenses, and in the Future. Finally, ask him to read and record these stories for you. Then you can listen to a story with many different kinds of grammar. You don’t need to know the grammar rules. Just listen to the Point of View stories and you will improve grammar automatically! You can also find Point of View lessons and use them to learn grammar automatically. It is powerful. It is simple. It is successful. You will succeed. You will use correct grammar naturally and automatically. This is the secret to English grammar.
