This video shows us how to order fast food in English. 1. How to order : “Can I have three? ”The answer : “anything else, mate?” 2. The transacsion “That’s  € 14.49.” “there you go, mate.” “cheers. Thank you very much.” 3. Asking “Be about 15 minutes for u. is that OK?” “yeah, that’s excellent, thanks.” We can also learn the culture of foreigner from this video. 1. seller was very hurry, so the buyer didn’t wait for long time. 2. It is about politness. – The seller said thank you more times. – He also said “have a good day” in the end conversation.

Summary: What was the listening selection about?

This video shows us the common mistakes and how to avoid them. She also tells us how to use them correctly in the daily topic. The first topic in this video is away from home. There are some examples : 1. Stranger foreigner Strangers are people you’ve never met before. People of other nationalities are foreigner, but this is often used negatively. We can avoid, “ It was interesting to have class discussions with strangers.” We can say, “It was interesting to have class discussions with people from other countries.” 2. Usual and common ‘Usual’ isn’t for many examples of something. ‘Common’ can be many examples of something. We can avoid, “Siti is a very usual name in Malaysia.” We can say, ‘Siti is a very common name in Malaysia.” The second topic is small words. Here the examples : 1. By car We can avoid, “I go to the market with my car.” This means that the car accompanies me go to market. We can say, “ I go to the market by a car.” 2. On foot We can avoid, “she go to the school by foot.” We can say, “ we can go to the school on foot.” 3. Come to We can come and go in room or house. We travel to a country and town. We can avoid, “I hope you willl come in Japan next month.” We can say, “You will travel to Japan next month.”

This video shows us 3 greetings to stop using in English, because they’re inappropriate. Here are the greetings : 1. Hello my love In some cultures, this is totally normal. In English in North America, it might make people think you’re romantically interested in them. Don’t use it. 2. Hello Ma’am / Sir In some cultures, this might show respect. It makes other people feels like they are eighty years old. Just a respectful “excuse me,” or “hello!” is fine for them. 3. Hello my friend It’s normal to say this in many languages, but in English it is not. Simply say “hello” or “hey there.”Hello teacher.Basically, teacher is like any profession. You wouldn’t address your accountant as “Hello, accountant,” would you? So, we don’t call our teacher “teacher” to their face. We just say their name!
